Thomas and Heumann extend their ST-class points lead to 19 (263-244) with just one round remaining

It wasn’t a perfect first appearance for the BimmerWorld/GearWrench GRAND-AM team on the streets of Trois Rivieres, Quebec, Canada, but when the checkered flag fell on Saturday’s Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres event, Seth Thomas and Bill Heumann drew closer to earning their first championship in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Street Tuner series.

With two races to go in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Street Tuner championship, Virginia’s BimmerWorld Racing might have been tempted to take it easy in an effort to protect their points lead, but for the hard charging BMW experts, sprinting to the checkered flag is what you can expect to see.

In what can only be described as the closest example of “trial by fire,” BimmerWorld’s drivers and crew faced a menacing foe last weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park – temperatures near 100 degrees and stifling humidity – that made placing both cars in the top-5 that much more rewarding.
