BimmerWorld Prepared for Second Season of GRAND-AM ST Competition

After coming tantalizingly close to winning the GRAND-AM ST title last year, BimmerWorld returns with two fast BMW E90s and four rapid drivers.
For some teams, finishing second in a major auto racing championship would be received in a positive light–as an indicator of how much progress had been made. For BimmerWorld Racing, the 2010 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Street Tuner (ST) class runner-up, finishing second has only served to fuel a relentless off-season of work to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
BimmerWorld Ready for GRAND-AM GS Debut at Daytona

Armed with two new BimmerWorld-built BMW M3 V8 race cars, the Virginia-based team is prepared for the 2011 season which opens this Friday at Daytona International Speedway.
After an intense off-season dominated by building two new cars for the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport (GS) category, the BimmerWorld Racing team is ready to unload their BMW M3 V8s at Daytona International Speedway to go racing this week at the season opener.

2009 GS champion Ken Wilden and Continental Series race winner Bob Michaelian join BimmerWorld to form strong 4-car ST and GS assault.
Expanding a racing team from two cars to four requires immense planning and labor, but to make all of that extra effort worthwhile, the best drivers are required. With today’s announcement of Ken Wilden, 2009 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport champion, and 2010 GS race winner Bob Michaelian as the drivers of the No. 78 BimmerWorld Racing BMW M3 V8 GS entry, the team has everything it needs to succeed.
